What is the Objective?

"Infectious Diseases 101 Research for High School"

Infectious Diseases: Bacterial and Viral Pathogens. Students will delve into the fascinating realm of infectious diseases in our Research Program designed for high school students with a passion for science. In "Infectious Diseases 101 Research for High School," students will explore the fundamental concepts and factors that shape the world of microbes, viruses, and the diseases they cause.

Students will:

🦠 Explore the ways bacteria and viruses cause diseases and discover the avenues of hope and survival.

🦠 Apply Koch's Germ Theory to identify disease causation.

🦠 Learn to navigate scientific literature, dissect articles, and conduct research.

Why you should attend the LIVE Webinar?

Infectious Diseases Research for High School

Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the fundamental concepts and factors that shape the world of microbes, viruses, immunology, and the diseases they cause.

1. Define Disease Terms:

Define key terms that physicians, pathologists, epidemiologists, and infectious disease experts use to describe disease states in patients. Students will also need to use terms properly throughout the course.

2. Understand Microbial Differences:

Demonstrate knowledge of the differences between host cells, bacterial cells, and viruses. Know the structures and functions that contribute to the virulence of bacteria and viruses.

3. Explore Disease Causes:

Discover how bacteria and viruses cause diseases and avenues for survival. Search databases for assignments and for the final review articles that they will write.

4. Apply Koch's Germ Theory:

Learn to identify disease causes and navigate scientific literature effectively.
