Dr. Varkey, an esteemed Assistant Professor of Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of Southern California, has an extensive background in neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and Huntington's disease, particularly in biomarker development. With over seven years at USC, he's known for fostering solid scientific collaborations, leading to timely research outputs. His notable achievements include co-leading an NIH R21 grant to develop a Parkinson’s disease biomarker and publishing over 20 peer-reviewed research articles. Dr. Varkey’s mentoring prowess has benefited many students, from high school to doctoral levels, promoting a culture of high performance and personal development.Â
