2024 Summer Research on Reproductive Biology and Skin Rejuvenation with University Professor
The 10-week Research on Reproductive Biology and Skin Rejuvenation for High School Students focuses on exploring and understanding the medical research processes and findings related to preterm birth and skin wound healing. Under the guidance of a Experienced physician scientist in connective tissue remodeling, skin rejuvenation, wound healing, and reproductive biology, students will engage in hands-on exploration and experimentation.
High Students will be guided to write a 4000+ word research paper and submit it to journals.

Experienced physician scientist in connective tissue remodeling, skin rejuvenation, wound healing, and reproductive biology. Changes in extracellular matrix (ECM) including hyaluronic acid, collagen, elastin and proteoglycans in connective tissue remodeling has been a major focus of my studies.
Extensive experience with human samples, pre-clinical studies, transgenic mouse, primary cell cultures of human and mouse as well as 2D/3D cultures with gene editing. He has focused on non-invasive imaging for skin and wound, and 23 gauge needle size micro biopsies for skin diagnostics and aging evaluation.

Kay Diaz has been a literary, language, and research educator for over 20 years. She spent three years managing a Korean language school, five years teaching junior high school English at a La Salle school, and sixteen years teaching English at the University of Cebu, one of the biggest colleges in the Philippines.
She spent four years working for UC as the Program Research Coordinator for the General Education Department on one of its campuses.
She received a promotion to the role of Campus Research Director in 2019.
She resigned her job in January 2023 to finish her doctorate in development education. During her tenure as a lecturer, she co-wrote and published five English books that were widely used on campus.

As her students call her, Coach Jo is an Independent Educational Consultant and College Counselor. She is a certified Tony Robbins Life Coach. Trained to identify children's goals and be their supportive friend and trusted adviser. She has also trained under Peg Dawson, EdD., a renowned psychologist. She uses this understanding to coach children to discover their strengths to overcome the hurdles and roadblocks on their path to success. She is also a certified Meditation Instructor and strives to empower parents in their child's educational journey.
Jo also runs a nonprofit named InspireYouth, a 501©3 organization that aims to empower youth and foster leadership. InspireYouth aspires to create lifetime humanitarians out of teens by providing volunteer opportunities to contribute, learn, and grow!
She completed her College Counseling course at UC Berkeley. Building a customized college list is her specialty. Her students have landed in Ivy League colleges such as Cornell, also landing in affordable colleges, winning merit aid/scholarships to the tune of over 5 million dollars in total.
