Who is the Program For?
High school students in Grades 9 and 10, who is interested in creating a well-rounded profile that no college can refuse.

What is in the program?
The step-by-step 9-week program will provide expert guidance to a high schooler in Grade 9 or 10 to confidently build a stand-out profile that will impress any college that they aspire to go to.

Waiting until senior year to prepare for college is no longer a realistic option. High School students facing the daunting battle of college admissions don’t have to face this challenge alone; we can help guide students through the process, simplifying and streamlining the intimidating college admissions process right from Grade 9.

Q & A Session: Thursday at 9 PM EST/8 PM CST/ 6 PM PST

With this 9-week program, your child will be able to make wise decisions about what courses to take, how to approach extracurricular and volunteer activities, strategize for standardized tests such as SAT/ACT/PSAT, and how to navigate the ins and outs of their high school journey.
By the end of the program…
Your high schooler will have:
- Discovery and Assessments: Students will be introduced to different assessments to figure out their strengths and weaknesses. Students will learn different strategies to enhance their learning in the classroom and outside.
- Academic Planning: Academic course planning and strategy with Gifted Gabber's Golden Rectangle Formula. Strategy to maximize standardized test scores.
- Extracurricular Activities Advising: Your high schooler’s GPA and test scores will get you to the door but your extracurricular activities will set you apart in the college application process.
- Volunteer opportunities and Plan creation: Applying for volunteering opportunities, creating a plan for volunteering for all 4 years, community service, and looking for awards to be won.
- Honor, Awards, and Leadership: Leadership can come in many forms. Remember, activities that have the maximum impact count the most! What’s important is the skills you will develop from your leadership experience.

Session 1:
DISCOVERY AND ASSESSMENT
ACTION PLAN: Students will be introduced to different assessments to figure out their strengths and weaknesses.
OUTCOME: Students will learn different strategies to enhance their learning in the classroom and outside.
Session 2:
PLAN EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES FOR ALL YEARS
ACTION PLAN: Students are provided guidance to pick extracurricular activities that align with their passion and interests.
OUTCOME: Clear Roadmap for ECs for all years.
Session 3:
CREATE A RESUME AND COVER LETTER
ACTION PLAN: High school students need a resume to apply to college, scholarships, employment, and internships.
OUTCOME: Well-written high school resume represents the student’s character, skills, and accomplishments.
Session 4:
PLAN VOLUNTEERING ACTIVITIES
ACTION PLAN: Community service is key to a well-rounded college application.
OUTCOME: Choose volunteering opportunities that align with the student’s interest and cause.
Session 5:
GOALS SETTING FOR STANDARDIZED TESTS
ACTION PLAN: Understand the different standardized tests such as SAT/ACT/PSAT and their structure. Look at the differences and similarities between SAT and ACT exams.
OUTCOME: Create a SMART Goal to ace tests
Session 6:
STUDY SKILLS FOR EXCELLING IN ACADEMICS
ACTION PLAN: Learn different study skills, strategies to apply core time and task management skills
OUTCOME: Overcoming procrastination to excel in AP and IB courses.
Session 7:
CREATE A PASSION PROJECT AND PERSONAL BRAND
ACTION PLAN: Put in the time and focused energy to turn a student’s passion into a project worthy of admission.
OUTCOME: Create an outline for an independent project that demonstrates students’ initiative, creativity, determination, and personal values and interests.
Session 8:
SUMMER ACTIVITIES PLANNING
ACTION PLAN: Research and find summer activities and ideas that match student interests. (students will be offered plenty of resources).
OUTCOME: Create a summer plan that aligns with academic and personal interests.
Session 9:
ANATOMY OF A COLLEGE APPLICATION
ACTION PLAN: Review the components of the College Application and understand the selection criteria of colleges.
OUTCOME: Play the role of an Admissions officer for a fictitious college and understand the application process realistically.
Bonus Session:
1-1 with Coach Jo
One-on-one session with Coach Jo to review the Blueprint or Plan created.

A Note From Jothsna Kethar...
An Entrepreneur, Educator, Counselor, Confidant, Career Guide, an Engineer, and above all, a Mother.
Well, that's me, and I've been in this field for over five years, and I have been instrumental in enabling at least 1000+ students in their academic and non-academic areas.
What drives me is the difference that parents see in their children once they participate in one of our many programs.
I know that winning scholarships is extremely competitive and definitely not straightforward! At best, you get one chance.
Cracking the scholarships is another ballgame altogether with at least FIVE criteria to take care of.
But, people still have been able to do it and you’ll find all the techniques, methods, and guidance from me to crack it.
My name is Jothsna Kethar; students and parents call me Coach Jo.
From cracking Ivy League to giving guidance and support to students on IEP, I’ve been fortunate to guide thousands of students in their careers.

Smrutha Vikram, Program Coordinator, and Lead
Teaching is Smrutha's passion, and she has been instructing students of all ages for the past 10 years. She strives to create a space for students to explore their hidden talents while helping them further their interests and passion. Smrutha is an integral part of Gifted Gabber and creates and runs various programs. She is the main point of contact for all Gifted Gabber programs.
Smrutha has been instrumental in successfully getting 2022 Summer Research students to complete their research papers and publish them.
